Job Description
The Reclaimed Water Technician I is responsible for operating and monitoring water treatment systems, collecting and testing water samples, and ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance at a water treatment facility. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the transmission pipeline, pumping systems, distribution network, and Rapid Infiltration Basins (RIBs).
- Monitor the SCADA system and collect, test, and interpret water quality and flow data.
- Conduct daily sampling and testing of reclaimed water, as well as weekly collection of groundwater levels and rainfall data.
- Maintain compliance with quality control standards and permits.
- Record and interpret data from meters, gauges, and computer systems accurately.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have completed high school level courses in math and English.
- Requires good math, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- A scientific and mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, have a safe driving record, and be able to operate vehicles with automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
