Job Description
A Machine Learning Engineer at Insider will develop AI-powered systems to enhance product discovery and personalization, working across the full technology stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create innovative and impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered systems to enhance product discovery, including semantic search and suggestions
- Develop and implement machine learning models for personalization and predictive analytics
- Collaborate across teams to work on data, modeling, software systems, and observability
- Own and develop meaningful components of AI and machine learning products
- Work with large-scale data and ensure the performance and reliability of AI systems
Requirements
- Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models and AI-powered systems.
- Strong programming skills in relevant languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
- Experience working across the full stack, including data handling, modeling, software systems, and observability.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work in an agile environment.
- Deep expertise in core areas of machine learning, data science, or related fields, with curiosity to expand across the stack (M-shaped development culture).
- Hands-on experience with semantic search, product discovery systems, or personalization engines is preferred.
- Experience working with large-scale data, including historical data exceeding 100 TB, and handling high request volumes (e.g., processing billions of requests and notifications daily).
- Ability to own meaningful pieces of products and grow quickly within a team environment.
