Job Description

The Manager, Clean Energy Origination supports clients in developing renewable energy projects by leading contract structuring and negotiations, primarily focusing on PPAs and related agreements, to facilitate their sustainability and decarbonization goals within the renewable energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead commercial strategy and structure energy contracts for renewable energy projects
Negotiate agreements such as PPAs, ISDAs, and retail energy contracts with sellers
Manage the client contract origination and negotiation process
Collaborate with internal teams and clients' deal teams to support renewable energy procurement
Support key clients in the US, Canada, and Europe with commercial aspects of clean energy projects
Innovate contract terms to adapt to the evolving renewable energy industry

Requirements

Experience leading commercial strategy, structuring energy contracts, and negotiating agreements on behalf of clients seeking renewable energy through onsite and offsite generation.
Familiarity with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), ISDAs, proxy generation, and retail agreements for renewable energy.
Ability to lead the client’s contract origination and negotiation process, working opposite the seller’s originator.
Support for key clients primarily in the US and Canada, with potential support for European clients.
Experience working closely with internal teams such as client service, supply, analytics, and external counsel during contract negotiations.
Knowledge of continuous innovation in contract terms to match the fast-changing renewable energy industry.
