Job Description
A senior robotics engineer responsible for developing and integrating machine learning-based perception, prediction, and action systems to create robust, reactive, and coordinated robotic behaviors, primarily in the context of autonomous driving and mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models for perception, prediction, and action in robotics systems.
- Design and optimize robust, reactive, and coordinated robot behaviors.
- Leverage simulation and large datasets to bootstrap and improve robotic capabilities.
- Evaluate system performance quantitatively to ensure high quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to transition technology development into practical products.
Requirements
- Proven experience in developing robotics systems with a focus on perception, prediction, and action, leveraging machine learning to produce robust, reactive, and coordinated robot behaviors.
- Experience bootstrapping from simulation and utilizing large amounts of data to develop robotic behaviors.
- Ability to adapt robotic systems to real-world scenarios.
- Strong background in machine learning, including developing and implementing ML models relevant to robotics.
- Experience with software development in robotics, including proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools.
- Experience working with cloud computing resources and infrastructure relevant to robotics and machine learning.
- Ability to develop high-quality, robust robotic systems through thorough processes and performance evaluation.
- Educational background in a relevant field such as Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in robotics engineering roles, with a focus on perception, prediction, and action integration.
- Experience in developing systems that can be transitioned from simulation to real-world deployment.
- Ability to quantitatively evaluate system performance and iterate on system improvements.
- Physical and cognitive ability to work in a fast-paced environment demanding high-risk innovation and learning from failures.

Salary range between $164,000 and $246,000 per year (California-based roles)
