Job Description
A research internship focused on developing AI techniques for human-vehicle interaction in autonomous driving, emphasizing long-term human-AI teaming, prediction, planning, and safety systems within a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on AI topics related to autonomous vehicle-human interactions, including trajectory prediction, driver behavior understanding, and human-machine teaming.
- Develop innovative AI approaches to improve prediction, planning, and interaction between drivers and intelligent vehicles.
- Focus on creating long-term human-AI teaming solutions involving co-adaptation and teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with research team to produce publications in top-tier conferences.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation safety systems, semi-autonomous driving systems, and robotic applications.
Requirements
- Motivated interns with excellent capabilities for research in various areas of AI around autonomous vehicles and related topics.
- Experience or relevant publications in the fields of autonomous driving, robotics, computer vision, machine learning, or human factors literature.
- Ability to work on research topics including multi-agent modeling, human-robot interactions, trajectory prediction, driver state and behavior understanding, activity recognition, shared control, human-machine teaming interaction, and computational teaching of humans.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with researchers and contribute to publications in top-tier conferences.
- Availability to participate in a 12-week paid internship during Summer 2026, with the internship being a hybrid in-office role at the Cambridge, MA research center.
- Possession of a full list of publications in relevant fields, with a link to Google Scholar to include when submitting CV.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
