Job Description
The Traffic Engineer will develop and analyze transportation infrastructure projects, perform traffic data collection, evaluations, and studies, and prepare designs and construction plans for traffic signals, lighting, and signage, contributing to urban mobility improvements within a collaborative, employee-owned firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe and collect traffic data
- Perform intersection evaluations
- Complete traffic and corridor studies
- Conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
- Prepare preliminary and final traffic design plans
- Develop construction plans for traffic signals, lighting, staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, and striping
Requirements
- Possess a Professional Engineer license in traffic engineering or a related field.
- Have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering or transportation infrastructure design.
- Be able to observe and collect traffic data, perform intersection evaluations, complete traffic and corridor studies, and conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software.
- Be responsible for preparing preliminary and final designs and developing construction plans for traffic signals, lighting, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, and signing striping.
- Currently reside or plan to relocate within a regular commuting distance of the company's office.
