Job Description
A Professional Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing and modeling HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for industrial and commercial facilities, performing energy analysis, equipment selection, and project management within a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for industrial and commercial facilities
- Perform energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis for building systems
- Select and size equipment, conduct heat load analysis, and prepare mechanical plans and specifications
- Develop construction documentation and design details for mechanical systems
- Participate in project development, fee estimating, and client presentations
- Meet with code officials and perform inspections and assessments at project sites
- Manage mechanical projects as a Project Manager on complex and multi-disciplinary projects
Requirements
- Extensive experience modeling and designing HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems for industrial and commercial facilities.
- Experience performing energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis for building systems.
- Proficiency in equipment selection and sizing, heat load analysis, and the preparation of mechanical plans, specifications, design details, and construction documentation.
- Ability to participate in project development and fee estimating.
- Experience attending client presentations and interviews.
- Ability to meet with code officials and perform inspections and assessments at project sites.
- Professional Mechanical Engineer license or equivalent certification.
- Experience working alongside multi-disciplined teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, and Architectural professionals.
- Ability to serve as a Project Manager on mechanical-intensive projects and larger multi-disciplined projects.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with in-office work on Monday and Friday and remote work Tuesday through Thursday.
- Successful completion of a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
