Job Description
A Professional Electrical Engineer responsible for leading electrical design projects related to building and industrial power, lighting, and signal systems within the rail and transit sector, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable infrastructure solutions from concept to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering efforts from concept through construction to create safe, reliable, and sustainable designs.
- Design power systems for industrial and commercial applications, including generators and EV charging infrastructure.
- Develop interior and exterior lighting designs, site power plans, one-line diagrams, panelboard schedules, conduit and cable layouts, and detailed construction drawings.
- Support construction administration by responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing site observations to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- A Professional Electrical Engineer license or equivalent certification.
- Extensive experience in building and industrial power system design.
- Extensive experience in lighting system design, including interior and exterior lighting.
- Extensive experience in signal system design.
- Experience in designing power systems for industrial and commercial applications, generators, and EV charging infrastructure.
- Experience in developing site power plans, one-line diagrams, panelboard schedules, conduits and cable layouts, and detailed construction drawings.
- Experience in leading electrical engineering efforts from concept through construction to create safe, reliable, and sustainable designs that meet client needs.
- Experience in supporting construction administration activities, including responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing site observations to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and Architecture disciplines.
- Proven track record of delivering electrical engineering solutions for Class I Railroads and Mass Transit organizations.
- Physical ability to perform site observations and inspections as part of construction administration activities.
