This role involves leading and developing the Seattle and Portland market within CannonDesign, focusing on business growth, client engagement, team leadership, and advancing the firm's design philosophy of Living-Centered Design to achieve strategic and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and lead high-performance, diverse teams focused on market growth and client engagement
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve revenue growth targets
Lead client relationships at high levels, managing project-specific work and fostering long-term partnerships
Promote the firm's brand externally and internally through speaking engagements, writing, and other activities
Develop and implement a market business plan to advance client engagement, market differentiation, and team building
Drive top-line revenue growth by targeting new clients and nurturing existing relationships
Lead strategic initiatives and market pursuit strategies to advance market growth
Assess market trends and identify opportunities for expansion and innovation
Collaborate with leadership to ensure successful implementation of business plan initiatives and profitability goals
Mentor, assess, and recruit staff to build a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
Current Registration Licensure in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience with a proven track record of strategic growth, market and team leadership, and business development success in the S T Market.
Strong presentation skills are essential.
Exceptional client and people leadership skills are required.
Professional acumen and maturity demonstrated by the ability to communicate authentically and respectfully are essential.
Strong business acumen and proven ability to create and execute strategy are needed.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing, accountable teams.
Must be able to demonstrate sound judgement and a sound approach regarding risk management and mitigation.
Some travel required.
Ability to develop and lead high-performance diverse teams focused on the development and implementation of the Market Business Plan.
Ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives and client pursuit discussions and strategies.
Ability to work with Office and other Market Leadership to lead the development of a market business plan outlining strategies and actionable items for client engagement, market differentiation, and team building.
Ability to focus on growing the top line of the market by identifying and actively pursuing new target clients as well as nurturing existing client relationships.
Accountability for achieving a minimum of 3.0 million dollars per year in net signed fees for the market.
Ability to lead client engagement at the highest levels, including leading, engaging, and partnering with clients on billable project-specific work.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of knowledge of the market, including Best Practices, and evidence-based and research-based design.
Ability to collaborate with the Office Practice Leader, Business Practice Leader, and Client Leaders to ensure successful implementation of business plan initiatives.
Ability to achieve a minimum of 10% firm profitability level for the market each year.
Experience in assessing, mentoring, coaching, and recruiting staff to build a high-performance team and develop future leaders within the market.
