Job Description
This internship offers undergraduate civil engineering students with a structural focus the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building facility design, structural modeling, and project lifecycle involvement within a multidisciplinary team, primarily through office and site work during the summer.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing structural models, floor plans, details, and construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit
- Support the design of steel, cast-in-place concrete, and precast concrete structures
- Participate in various stages of project life cycle from conception through construction
- Assist with preliminary site conditions assessments
- Support construction administration activities
Requirements
- Be an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Have an interest in building facility design.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2025 from mid-May through mid-August.
- Be able to work primarily from the office in Bloomington or an assigned project site, with the possibility of flexible hybrid work arrangements.
- Have the ability to assist with the development of structural models, floor plans, details, and construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Be willing to assist with preliminary site conditions assessments or construction administration responsibilities on occasion.
- Complete a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history, upon acceptance of a conditional offer of employment.
