Job Description
This internship offers undergraduate civil engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in bridge design and transportation infrastructure projects, working alongside professional engineers and technicians in a structured summer program.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with highway, railroad, pedestrian bridge, and retaining wall design.
- Contribute to the production of final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Apply academic knowledge to support engineering projects alongside professional engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Be an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an interest in bridge design.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2026 from mid-May through mid-August.
- Be able to work primarily from the office in Bloomington, MN, or an assigned project site, with potential for flexible hybrid work arrangements.
- Complete a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
