Job Description
A Community Climate Advocate engages with homeowners to educate them about energy-efficient HVAC solutions, promote environmental benefits, and help improve indoor air quality and energy savings in Massachusetts communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Connect with homeowners in targeted neighborhoods to discuss HVAC benefits
- Educate community members about energy-efficiency incentives, rebates, and tax credits
- Help homeowners understand their home's energy performance and indoor air quality issues
- Guide customers toward HVAC solutions that enhance comfort and reduce environmental impact
- Participate in local community events to promote healthy home environments and energy conservation
Requirements
- Must be based in Massachusetts (MA).
- Ability to connect easily with people from diverse backgrounds as a natural relationship-builder.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in accessible ways.
- Willingness to participate in local community events to raise awareness about healthy home environments and energy conservation.
- Ability to educate community members about available energy-efficiency incentives, rebates, and tax credits.
- Ability to discuss how modern HVAC systems benefit both comfort and the environment.
- Experience or ability to help homeowners understand their current home’s energy performance and indoor air quality challenges.
- Willingness to join a high energy canvassing team to connect with homeowners in targeted neighborhoods.
- Ability to guide customers toward HVAC solutions that maximize comfort while minimizing environmental impact.
- Willingness to participate in comprehensive training on advanced HVAC technology and energy-efficient solutions.
- Availability to work during the scheduled hours, including the initial two-week training period at $20 per hour.
- Ability to work in a commission-only structure following training, with on-target earnings of $126,000 per year.
- Commitment to making a measurable impact on home health and energy efficiency with every conversation.
