Job Description

A Senior Backend Engineer at Sword Health will develop and maintain backend systems to support AI-driven healthcare solutions, contributing to the company's mission of reducing pain and improving lives globally.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend systems for AI Care platform
Design scalable and efficient server-side architecture
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement features
Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of backend services
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical best practices

Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid EU visa and be based in Portugal.
Experience in backend engineering or related roles with a strong understanding of backend development.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for backend development (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar).
Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems.
Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Experience with API development and integration.
Knowledge of database systems, including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Understanding of cloud services and deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Excellent communication skills in English.
