Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer at STX is responsible for designing and developing scalable, mission-critical systems that support the entire trading lifecycle of environmental commodities, integrating technology, trading, and environmental impact to drive the company's growth and decarbonization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable services supporting the full trading lifecycle from origination to settlement and reconciliation.
- Create APIs, modular architectures, and data pipelines to ensure platform performance and reliability.
- Translate complex business processes into maintainable, scalable software solutions.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in design code reviews to maintain technical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, well-architected solutions.
- Mentor and grow engineering talent, promoting best practices and a culture of clarity and accountability.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience building scalable, reliable software, ideally in fintech, trading platforms, or data-intensive systems.
- Proficiency in TypeScript with strong backend experience in Python or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
- Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud-native design patterns.
- Strong system design and engineering fundamentals, including clean architecture, testing, and production-grade software development.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to bridge technical and business perspectives and give and receive constructive feedback.
