Job Description
The Senior Originator at STX is responsible for engaging with clients and market participants to develop and execute renewable energy and environmental commodity solutions, including power purchase agreements and offtakes, to support decarbonization strategies and drive business growth in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain network of developers and upstream market participants in renewable projects
- Collaborate with sales and trading teams to source and execute renewable energy credit offtakes, PPAs, and VPPAs
- Analyze and synthesize complex risks and opportunities into actionable strategies
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their needs and develop tailored decarbonization solutions
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience at a project developer, consultancy, trader, wholesale market participant, and/or financial institution focused on renewable energy project development, long-term offtakes, and power purchase agreements.
- Experience in deal-making within renewable energy and/or electricity markets.
- Strong credit, financial analysis, quantitative, and modeling skills.
- Degree in Finance, Business, Energy, Engineering, or related fields.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are beneficial.
- Ability to work in or be willing to relocate to New York, NY or Houston, TX.
