A hands-on, field-based role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing large-scale commercial rooftop solar assets, while providing technical leadership, diagnostics, and mentoring to junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize large-scale commercial rooftop solar assets
Handle advanced diagnostics of solar systems
Support commissioning activities for solar projects
Mentor junior technicians in technical skills and procedures
Collaborate with Asset Management, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure system performance
Requirements
Experience as a solar professional with hands-on, field-based work in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing large-scale commercial rooftop solar assets.
Ability to solve complex technical problems related to solar systems.
Experience taking ownership of system performance and acting as a technical leader in the field.
Proficiency in handling advanced diagnostics of solar energy systems.
Experience supporting commissioning activities for solar projects.
Ability to mentor junior technicians and support team development.
Strong collaboration skills to work closely with Asset Management, Engineering, and Construction teams.
Physical ability to perform hands-on, field-based work on commercial rooftop solar assets.
Experience working in Illinois or willingness to work in Illinois.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and proper maintenance procedures in a field environment.
