Job Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and supporting audits within a renewable energy company, ensuring accurate financial statements and adherence to accounting standards in a dynamic and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to management
- Assist with preparation of entity-level financial statements and compliance reports
- Support audits during interim and year-end fieldwork
- Draft standalone annual financial statements and prepare supporting documentation
- Calculate debt covenants and ratio compliance
- Record intercompany transactions for operating projects
- Adopt and implement new accounting standards with supporting deliverables
- Maintain strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting controls
- Contribute to the financial close process and other reporting activities as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 2-4 years of work experience in finance or accounting
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong knowledge of accounting control and process
- Experience in compiling and presenting monthly and quarterly financial packages to management
- Experience in preparing entity level financial statements on a quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis
- Experience in calculating debt covenant compliance and covenant ratios
- Experience supporting audits during interim and year-end fieldwork
- Experience in drafting standalone annual financial statements and preparing supporting working papers
- Ability to be a direct contact for the Company’s independent auditors
- Experience in recording intercompany transactions for operating projects on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Ability to work with Senior Manager and Manager in the adoption of new accounting standards, including preparation of key deliverables and supporting documentation
- Willingness to assist in other areas of the financial reporting and close process as necessary
