The Intern, Land Siting and Acquisition supports Silicon Ranch's project development team by identifying and negotiating land sites for renewable energy projects, building community relationships, and assisting in growing the project pipeline through coordination and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Identify high-quality project sites and negotiate land purchase options
Establish and maintain relationships with community members, landowners, and project stakeholders
Coordinate with Community Engagement and Economic Development teams to develop community entry strategies
Communicate and negotiate effectively with landowners and partners
Review and maintain project records
Facilitate handoff of siting assets to team members
Track Business Development activity and support pipeline growth
Manage a greenfielding portfolio and execute project siting goals
Requirements
Experience or course work in project management, energy management, land development, real estate, or environmental science is required.
Current students, preferably Sophomores and Juniors, or recent graduates who can commit to 20 to 40 hours per week.
Ability to identify high quality project sites and efficiently negotiate land purchase options to support demand in target markets.
Ability to establish strong relationships within the community as initial contacts and support Silicon Ranch’s business model as long-term owner and community member.
Ability to coordinate with Community Engagement and Economic Development teams to form initial community entry strategies and maintain them throughout the project.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate and negotiate effectively and responsibly with landowners and partners.
Professional representation of the organization with landowners, vendors, utilities, local officials, and other project stakeholders.
Responsibility for reviewing and maintaining project records.
Ability to facilitate handoff of siting assets to other team members.
Ability to track Business Development activity in target markets and support strategic prioritization of changing needs on a regular basis.
Experience or coursework in project management, energy management, land development, real estate, or environmental science is required.
