The Solar PV Operations and Maintenance Area Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance tasks on utility-scale solar facilities, including troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections of electrical and mechanical components, while leading a team to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and lead scheduled preventive maintenance on PV systems, UPS, SCADA, substation, and MV HV OHE systems
Perform and lead corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairs, on electrical and mechanical components
Respond to emergency dispatches for critical systems
Log all maintenance work in the CMMS platform
Conduct electrical testing using specialized equipment
Assist with field investigations, root cause analysis, and defect reporting
Create and review maintenance SOPs, schedules, and checklists
Provide site access to third-party contractors
Mentor and train team members in operations and maintenance tasks
Schedule maintenance activities within the defined area of operations
Participate in meetings and communicate effectively with management and team members
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
4 years of experience in the electrical trade, electrical maintenance, multicraft maintenance, or the completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
1 year of experience in utility scale solar PV operations and maintenance
Experience performing and leading maintenance tasks on DC, AC, and MV systems, communications equipment, and mechanical systems
PV Solar Operations and Maintenance experience is required
Advanced skills with computers and electronic equipment
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA70E, and OSHA standards
Valid Driver's License
OSHA 30 certification must be obtained within 4 weeks of employment
CPR BLS certification must be obtained within 4 weeks of employment
Ability to work outside in most weather conditions
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively, collaboratively, and responsibly with team members and management
