Job Description

The Solar PV Operations and Maintenance Area Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance tasks on utility-scale solar facilities, including troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections of electrical and mechanical components, while leading a team to ensure optimal system performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead scheduled preventive maintenance on PV systems, UPS, SCADA, substation, and MV HV OHE systems
  • Perform and lead corrective maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairs, on electrical and mechanical components
  • Respond to emergency dispatches for critical systems
  • Log all maintenance work in the CMMS platform
  • Conduct electrical testing using specialized equipment
  • Assist with field investigations, root cause analysis, and defect reporting
  • Create and review maintenance SOPs, schedules, and checklists
  • Provide site access to third-party contractors
  • Mentor and train team members in operations and maintenance tasks
  • Schedule maintenance activities within the defined area of operations
  • Participate in meetings and communicate effectively with management and team members

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years of experience in the electrical trade, electrical maintenance, multicraft maintenance, or the completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
  • 1 year of experience in utility scale solar PV operations and maintenance
  • Experience performing and leading maintenance tasks on DC, AC, and MV systems, communications equipment, and mechanical systems
  • PV Solar Operations and Maintenance experience is required
  • Advanced skills with computers and electronic equipment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA70E, and OSHA standards
  • Valid Driver's License
  • OSHA 30 certification must be obtained within 4 weeks of employment
  • CPR BLS certification must be obtained within 4 weeks of employment
  • Ability to work outside in most weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively, collaboratively, and responsibly with team members and management
