The Community Relations Associate will build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to support solar project development, facilitate community engagement and outreach, and represent the company at local events to ensure positive community involvement and project success.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain trusting relationships with community stakeholders, including local government, residents, landowners, and organizations.
Act as the primary contact and ambassador between Silicon Ranch and local communities, facilitating engagement and communication.
Organize and participate in community meetings, public forums, and events to inform and engage residents about solar projects.
Communicate project benefits, timelines, and impacts, addressing questions and concerns transparently.
Collaborate with internal teams on site selection, permitting, and public approval processes by gathering community input.
Monitor community sentiment, address concerns, mediate conflicts, and advocate for mutually beneficial solutions.
Support the development and execution of community benefit programs such as workforce development and local economic initiatives.
Conduct research on community dynamics, regulatory environments, and stakeholder interests to inform engagement strategies.
Travel to project sites and communities to represent the company at local events, hearings, and stakeholder meetings.
Requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in public speaking and facilitating group discussions.
Experience in community engagement, public outreach, or related fields such as campaign field work, issue advocacy, or communications.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and communities to maintain a visible, accessible presence, including working flexible hours as needed.
Possession of a valid driver s license and comfort driving in rural areas to participate in in-person meetings and events.
Competency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Organized, self-motivated, and a self-starter with empathy and passion for community relations and renewable energy development.
