The Intern, Agrivoltaics Tech supports regenerative land and livestock management operations within utility-scale solar energy projects, gaining hands-on experience in grazing, vegetation management, and animal husbandry to promote environmental sustainability and renewable energy goals.
Key Responsibilities
Support regenerative land and livestock management operations within utility-scale solar projects.
Assist in implementing grazing and vegetation management plans.
Deploy temporary fencing and water systems for livestock management.
Perform animal husbandry activities including feeding, wellness checks, vaccinating, deworming, and weight monitoring.
Record and interpret livestock performance data to inform flock management.
Operate and maintain equipment such as mowing and seeding tools.
Construct and improve ranch infrastructure as needed.
Support seasonal activities aligned with soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem goals.
Requirements
Applicants must have a valid driver s license and reliable transportation.
Interns must have a High School Diploma or be currently enrolled in a program related to Ranch Management, Agriculture, Animal Science, or similar fields.
Experience in livestock agriculture and knowledge about regenerative agriculture are required.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
Internship duration is 10 weeks, with a commitment of 40 hours per week from May 18th to July 24th.
Interns must be able to support and execute grazing and vegetation management plans, including deployment of temporary fencing and water systems, and perform extensive animal husbandry activities such as feeding, wellness checks, vaccinating, deworming, weight monitoring, administration of therapeutic drugs, pregnancy diagnosis, and breeding soundness exams.
Interns must be able to operate and perform basic maintenance on mowing equipment, seeding equipment, and other mechanical vegetation control tools.
Applicants should have experience in livestock agriculture and be knowledgeable about regenerative agriculture practices; Holistic Management experience is preferred.
Interns should have the ability to collect and interpret livestock performance data and apply findings to long-term flock goals.
Applicants must be able to work some weekends and occasionally travel and stay overnight away from the primary ranch.
