Job Description
The position involves leading a team of performance engineers and plant operators to monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of Silicon Ranch's solar and battery energy plants, providing actionable insights and ensuring efficient operations through data analysis, automation, and process management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Remote Operations Team, setting priorities, tasks, and providing mentorship.
- Analyze data from solar and battery facilities to identify trends, root causes of failures, and optimize performance.
- Oversee performance management analysis to support decision-making for asset management and operations.
- Escalate complex performance issues to internal teams and third-party providers, developing processes for quick resolution.
- Manage automation of reporting and analysis tasks to improve efficiency using data platforms like Power BI and data lakes.
- Create and update SOPs related to monitoring, operations, and compliance with NERC standards.
- Train and develop Remote Operations Center staff on NERC CIP operations and plant monitoring procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with coding in Python, R, or a comparable platform
- Experience with power systems engineering, electrical engineering, or solar performance engineering
- Experience with Fabric Azure
- Intermediate knowledge of how solar systems are installed and operated
- Expert knowledge of how solar systems ideally or power systems are installed and operated
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in power generation system design, development, construction, or operation, with at least 3 years in Solar and/or Battery systems
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience analyzing data from power generation equipment or other manufacturing process data
- At least 3 years of management experience, preferably leading engineering or other technically focused teams
