Job Description
The Valve Technician will support the design and construction of a battery material manufacturing facility by maintaining and servicing tools and facilities, executing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with engineering and vendors to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- •Maintain and service existing tools and facilities through executing preventative maintenance routes.
- •Create preventative maintenance and repair procedures.
- •Complete technical job summaries and document follow-ups.
- •Work with outside vendors to schedule onsite maintenance and repairs.
- •Identify and place purchase requests for critical spare parts.
- •Report safety incidents and near misses within 24 hours.
- •Share lessons learned from working on manufacturing equipment to improve work processes and safety guidelines.
- •Collaborate with engineering on tool improvements and future tool design.
- •Provide feedback to design engineering on design for serviceability.
Requirements
- •High school diploma or equivalent.
- •Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose malfunctions and perform testing to ensure proper valve operation.
- •Basic understanding of fundamental physics and its application to pressurized fluid systems and energized circuits.
- •Able to read and interpret P&IDs.
- •Experience installing and replacing process instruments such as pressure, temperature, and flow sensors.
- •Experience certifications to rebuild safety valves.
- •Experience performing maintenance and leak checks on various types of piping construction including stainless steel tubing, flanged piping, threaded piping, and welded PVC pipe.
- •Able to train and develop other less experienced industrial maintenance technicians.
- •Experience supporting facilities equipment including HVAC, chillers, boilers, lighting, and exhaust fans.
- •Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis.
- •Wear personal protective equipment including a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes.
- •Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts.
- •Move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time.
- •Reach low shelves or items on the floor.
- •Enter spaces narrower than 3 feet.
- •Climb stairs or over containment walls.
- •Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities.
- •Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, printer, etc. in a fixed location.
