Job Description
The Senior Staff Quality Engineer at Sila is responsible for ensuring operational quality and customer requirements are met by leading product quality planning, managing quality systems, and collaborating across teams to improve overall quality performance in the development of advanced battery materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to identify and define customer requirements and specifications
- Lead cross-functional product quality planning efforts for new products
- Integrate APQP deliverables into existing programs and train stakeholders on APQP principles
- Serve as the primary Quality contact for customer quality topics, issues, and initiatives
- Manage key quality systems such as customer complaints, management of change, MRB, and internal audits
- Monitor, report on, and improve quality system performance
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of work experience in Quality working within an ISO 9001, IATF16949, AS9100, or GMP quality management system, with automotive and bulk materials experience preferred.
- Strong familiarity with APQP principles and industry standards guidelines, including strong knowledge of IATF, AIAG, and VDA.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
- Ability to think deeply and critically in order to solve problems and develop strategies within a cross-functional team.
- Strong attention to detail and process-based thinking.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, be self-motivated, and work autonomously with minimal guidance.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and eager to create structure.
- Able to lead cross-functional teams.
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes.
- Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, and printer in a fixed location.
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the year.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $147,000 to $186,000
Work schedule: Ability to travel up to 10% of the year
