Job Description
A Process Integration Engineer at Sila is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for battery materials, ensuring high yield, reliability, and performance while collaborating across R&D and high-volume production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing process workflows for multiple products and unit operations
- Plan and execute experiments to validate new materials and characterize processes and equipment
- Analyze process data and defect trends to identify root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions
- Design and implement efficient manufacturing flows for new products ensuring compatibility and safety
- Coordinate with design, equipment, and materials engineers to resolve integration challenges and align on performance targets
- Maintain detailed process specifications, flowcharts, and FMEA documentation
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on process development and/or engineering experience.
- Experience in materials-centric industries such as semiconductors, battery technology, specialty chemicals, or advanced composites is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in statistical software and the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Ability to report technical data effectively to both technical teams and management stakeholders.
- A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- PhD degree is preferred.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $107,000 to $136,000 base pay
Work schedule: Travel as needed to manufacturing sites, up to 10% of time
Work environment perks: Onsite work, safety equipment provided, ability to wear respiratory protection, movement and handling of materials up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, operating office equipment
