Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the design, regulatory compliance, construction, and execution of off-grid microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for data centers, ensuring project delivery, stakeholder management, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of behind-the-meter BTM, microgrids, gas-fired power plants, and solar storage systems for data centers.
- Support project design during the planning phase, ensuring integration of execution details, operational feasibility, and regulatory considerations.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, and local authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
- Execute infrastructure updates, including natural gas pipeline connections and lateral builds.
- Lead EPC oversight, ensuring vendors and contractors meet project expectations, timelines, and quality standards.
- Monitor construction progress, proactively resolving delays and ensuring safety and contractual adherence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during construction, providing updates and addressing concerns.
Requirements
- Experience supporting project design during the design phase to ensure that execution details are integrated into project plans from the outset, including providing insights into natural gas requirements, operational feasibility, vendor alignment, and other operational feasibility risks.
- Ability to ensure that customer expectations, technical requirements, and regulatory considerations are fully addressed and on track throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience managing relationships with regulatory bodies, utilities, and local authorities to secure necessary approvals and ensure compliance with site regulations and infrastructure requirements.
- Proven ability to execute infrastructure updates required for the site, including natural gas pipeline connection and potential lateral builds.
- Experience leading EPC oversight activities, ensuring all vendors and contractors deliver in alignment with expectations and timelines of data center customers.
- Ability to monitor construction progress against the agreed-upon schedule, proactively identify and resolve delays or bottlenecks to maintain project momentum.
- Experience conducting regular site visits and progress reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and contractual obligations.
- Proven ability to serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership during the construction phase, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with project execution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, construction oversight, or related roles in energy infrastructure or data center projects.
- Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work in a hybrid role based out of Ridgewood, NJ, NYC, LA, or Oakland, CA, or fully remote for the right candidate.
- Physical ability to conduct site visits and inspections as required.
