A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to drive revenue and create a seamless customer experience
Provide technical leadership and expertise on storage products, architectures, and competitive offerings
Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage solutions
Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to customers to secure technical wins
Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions to support their growth
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
Develop technical marketing materials such as whitepapers and web presentations
Stay current with industry trends, competition, and emerging storage architectures
Requirements
Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts is required.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions is required.
Must have a familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions, including storage architectures such as FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, is required.
Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment is required.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems is required.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers is required.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking is required.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to contribute significantly to or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs is required.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts is preferred.
Experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients is preferred.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle, is highly desirable.
Curiosity and passion for technology and explaining/showing new technology platforms and concepts to customers are required.
