Job Description
The role involves providing legal counsel to support SB Energy's growth in renewable energy projects, including data centers, solar, battery storage, and related infrastructure, with responsibilities in transaction negotiation, project development, and corporate finance within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to support SB Energy's growth and project development in energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Support and negotiate project and corporate financing structures, including debt, tax equity, and equipment financing.
- Review, negotiate, and draft real estate agreements and manage title issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate project documents such as power purchase agreements, lease agreements, and EPC/O&M contracts.
- Manage and supervise outside counsel within budget, review invoices, and ensure legal support for development and operational teams.
Requirements
- JD and strong academic record from a leading law school
- Licensed to practice law in applicable state of residence
- 5 years of relevant experience at a major law firm or with a sophisticated in-house legal department
- Significant experience with respect to transactions in the renewables industry, with a focus on M A, real estate and or project development and finance
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Project management skills
- Ability to negotiate
- Ability to provide a high level of client service and build consensus across a matrixed client organization
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Ability to take lead on responsibilities within the job description, with support from outside counsel and/or other members of the internal legal team
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $160,000 - $200,000 with discretionary annual bonus
Work schedule: Hybrid work arrangement
