Job Description
This role involves providing legal counsel to support SB Energy's growth in energy and infrastructure projects, including real estate, project finance, acquisitions, and technology development, with a focus on renewable energy sectors such as solar, battery storage, and data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to support SB Energy's growth and project development in energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Support and negotiate project and corporate financing, including debt, tax equity, and equipment financing structures.
- Review, negotiate, and draft real estate agreements, lease agreements, power purchase agreements, and related project documents.
- Manage outside counsel, review invoices, and ensure legal services are within budget.
- Advise on legal issues related to project development and operations, including acquisition structures and market entry strategies.
Requirements
- JD and strong academic record from a leading law school
- Licensed to practice law in applicable state of residence
- At least 2 years of relevant experience at a major law firm or with a sophisticated in-house legal department
- Experience with transactions in the energy and infrastructure industry, with a focus on M&A, real estate, and/or project development and finance
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to negotiate
- Ability to provide a high level of client service and build consensus across a matrixed client organization
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Ability to take lead on responsibilities within the job description, with support from outside counsel and internal legal team

Base salary range: $140,000 - $170,000
