Job Description
The Senior Project Manager oversees the development and pre-construction phases of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, ensuring project readiness for construction, managing contracts and stakeholder engagement, and coordinating cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee utility-scale PV and BESS projects from advanced development through pre-construction, ensuring readiness for construction and successful project closing.
- Support negotiations and execution of EPC contracts, owner-furnished equipment contracts, and other project agreements.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation during the pre-construction phase.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align design, schedule, and project milestones.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with landowners, utilities, and regulators to meet site control, interconnection, and permitting requirements.
- Obtain necessary permits and ensure regulatory compliance through engagement with authorities having jurisdiction.
- Support financial close activities by working with finance, legal, and independent engineer teams.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience managing utility-scale PV, BESS, and PV BESS projects.
- Experience performing the duties and responsibilities related to utility-scale PV and BESS projects, including project development, pre-construction, permitting, contracting, stakeholder engagement, and financial close activities.
- Ability to travel 25-50% of the time, as needed.
- Expertise in MS Office Suite, MS Project and/or P6 (optional), Monday.com, and other project management tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Experience supporting the negotiation and execution of EPC contracts and other critical project agreements.
- Experience managing project budgets and pre-construction schedules.
- Experience coordinating with authorities having jurisdiction and permitting agencies to obtain all required permits, including special conditional use permits, environmental permits, and building permits.
- Experience working with finance parties, legal counsel, and independent engineers to support financial milestones and project closings.
