Job Description
The Senior Project Manager oversees the development and pre-construction phases of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, ensuring project readiness for construction, managing stakeholder relationships, contracts, budgets, and schedules, while fostering cross-functional collaboration and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee utility-scale PV and BESS projects from advanced development through pre-construction, ensuring readiness for construction and successful project closing.
- Support negotiations and execution of EPC contracts, owner-furnished equipment contracts, and other project agreements.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation during pre-construction phases.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align design, schedule, and scope before mobilization.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across departments to meet project milestones and resolve conflicts or scope gaps.
- Interface with landowners, utilities, and power purchasers to meet site control, interconnection, and power purchase agreement conditions.
- Engage with permitting authorities to obtain necessary permits, including environmental and building permits.
- Support financial closing activities by coordinating with finance, legal, and independent engineer teams.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience managing utility-scale PV, BESS, and PV BESS projects.
- Experience performing the duties and responsibilities related to utility-scale PV and BESS projects, including project development, pre-construction, permitting, contracting, stakeholder engagement, and financial close activities.
- Ability to travel 25-50% of the time, as needed.
- Expertise in MS Office Suite, MS Project and/or P6 (optional), Monday.com, and other project management tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
