Job Description
The Manager, Water at SB Energy is responsible for leading water and wastewater acquisition and infrastructure development for large-scale AI data center projects across the U.S., working with providers, partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable water services and support project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct water and wastewater acquisition for data center complexes
- Build and maintain relationships with water and wastewater service providers
- Negotiate and contract with water providers for permits, right-of-ways, and infrastructure construction
- Engage with hyperscaler customers on water and wastewater technical requirements
- Monitor market developments and incorporate new technologies and best practices
- Hire and oversee engineering consultants supporting water infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project development, engineering, and financing
- Support lease negotiations and project financing activities for data centers
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets
- Travel nationally up to 20% to support project needs
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in water wastewater for data centers and or power generation, ideally at a hyperscaler or with a leading engineering consultancy.
- Experience working with water wastewater providers and with hyperscaler customer technology teams.
- The ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Strong sense of ownership over individual contributions and team success.
