Job Description
The Network Fiber Director is responsible for leading fiber network acquisition and management for SB Energy's large-scale AI data center projects across the U.S., including negotiating with carriers, securing permits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and optimized fiber connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct network fiber acquisition for data center complexes, including securing multiple redundant routes and technical specifications.
- Manage relationships with fiber network carriers to negotiate deals, permits, right-of-ways, and construction agreements.
- Engage with hyperscaler customers to gather input on network fiber requirements such as redundancy, fiber count, and connectivity.
- Monitor fiber market developments, including new technologies and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project schedules, budgets, and customer negotiations.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in network fiber for data centers, ideally at a hyperscaler.
- Experience working with fiber network carriers and with hyperscaler customer technology teams.
- The ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Strong sense of ownership over individual contributions and team success.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.

Compensation/salary range: $190,000 - $220,000 with potential discretionary annual bonus and long-term incentive plan
