Job Description
The role involves leading the design and development of scalable, large-scale distributed systems and foundational platform services at Samsara, guiding technical strategy, and collaborating across teams to build innovative solutions that improve physical operations and customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive technology choices, implement services, and establish architectural patterns impacting the platform.
- Design, develop, and architect software to enable scalable operations.
- Lead teams in delivering products and capabilities that contribute to company revenue.
- Solve complex technical problems to ensure high-quality product delivery and market readiness.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and product teams to build products, tools, and solutions with a platform-first approach.
- Mentor and elevate team members to increase overall team impact and output.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions with at least 2 of those years in an architect or leadership role
- Stellar programming coding fundamentals
- 4 years of experience building large scale distributed systems
- 4 years of experience leading cross-organization projects
- Mastery in data modeling and full-stack application architecture at a massive scale
- Programming mastery in Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C++, or other similar languages
- Expertise working on large-scale enterprise software applications
- Demonstrated ability to ship production-quality software in a dynamic environment
- Expert level knowledge of at-scale stream processing decision engines
