Job Description

The role involves developing and maintaining scalable, real-time safety and telematics systems for connected vehicle fleets, focusing on detecting risks, processing large data streams, and delivering actionable insights to improve safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussions to identify gaps in the telematics data platform and influence the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to make design decisions and understand downstream implications.
  • Ship and refine full stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile platforms.
  • Maintain and support production systems owned by the team.
  • Integrate complex event data streams to deliver safety features and real-time alerts.
  • Transform raw detection data into actionable insights and user-friendly tools within the dashboard.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and building products in a software engineering team.
  • Proven experience leading the design, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of highly scalable, distributed software systems.
  • Proven experience in building, deploying, and maintaining Machine Learning-powered products.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting engineers and role modeling engineering practices within a technical lead capacity.
  • Experience taking end-to-end ownership of product, feature designs, development, and delivery of large-scale and long-running projects.
  • Proactive growth mindset, always looking at ways to improve the status quo.
  • Experience in designing and building products in a software engineering team.
  • Experience in building customer-facing web and mobile workflow applications.
  • Experience maintaining production systems and providing operational support for the systems owned by the team.
  • Minimum educational qualification of a B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Ability to collaborate with other engineering teams to make design decisions and understand downstream implications in the product.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with teammates to identify gaps in the telematics data platform and influence the roadmap by setting direction and recommending solutions.
  • Ability to ship features that deliver value to customers, and refine them based on feedback.
  • Experience with full stack development across multiple tiers including front-end, back-end, and mobile.
  • Ability to take end-to-end ownership of product, feature designs, development, and delivery of large-scale and long-running projects.
