Job Description
A creative Instructional Designer responsible for developing engaging training content and learning strategies to support customer success and product understanding within a SaaS environment, leveraging various multimedia tools and instructional methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define training requirements, learning goals, and user needs in collaboration with partners
- Create and develop learning content in various formats such as online courses, audio, video, and live training
- Leverage AI-based tools and multimedia to rapidly develop and iterate instructional content
- Review and improve content effectiveness through partner and SME feedback
- Maintain and update content to stay aligned with product and process changes
- Design and write engaging assessments, credentials, and certification questions
- Collaborate with the Education team and stakeholders to develop content for live training and events
- Stay informed about customer and partner needs, product updates, and industry best practices
Requirements
- Proven ability to craft learning content that is effective and engaging using Instructional Design standard methodologies.
- Ability to communicate abstract or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, both visually and in writing.
- Ability to identify the best learning delivery formats such as online learning, assessments, and audio-based lessons for specific objectives.
- Collaboration skills and teamwork to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail in content development.
- Knowledge of legacy and emerging content development tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Miro, Figma, Adobe Suite, Zoom, Clueso, Parta.io, etc.
- 3-5 years of learning design or instructional design experience in a software SaaS setting.
- Design and build learning credentialing experiences in different formats including online learning, audio, video, live training materials, within various templates and business requirements.
- Leverage AI-based content authoring and multimedia tools to develop content rapidly and iteratively.
- Solicit reviews from partners and SMEs, and review others' content and assessments for effectiveness.
- Become an expert in customer and partner needs, keep up with changes in product and process, and maintain content at frequent intervals.
- Design and write engaging and effective assessments, self-assessments, credentials, and certification questions.
- Work with partners across the company to define training requirements, learning goals, and user needs for both customers and partners.
- Design and develop training content that supports customer success and operational safety.
- Champion and embed Samsara’s values and operating principles as the company scales globally.
- Knowledge of Instructional Design standard methodologies and a proven ability to craft effective and engaging learning content.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical and abstract information clearly.
- Collaboration skills and teamwork orientation.
- Attention to visual design aesthetics and detail.
- Experience with content development tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Miro, Figma, Adobe Suite, Zoom, Clueso, Parta.io, etc.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of instructional design or learning design experience in a SaaS environment.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $74,375 - $100,000 USD annually
