Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in developing and building scalable IoT platform solutions, including infrastructure, user interfaces, and embedded software, to improve physical operations across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop core infrastructure for the IoT platform, focusing on scaling data ingestion and storage systems.
- Create user interfaces to transform device data into intuitive, actionable insights.
- Develop features across the platform, including data structures and analytics for web and mobile platforms.
- Support and enhance the infrastructure of the React Native mobile application.
- Design, develop, and maintain on-device software for Samsara's hardware products, including edge AI and real-time data processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create seamless device-to-cloud experiences.
Requirements
- Complete a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science between Spring, Summer, Fall 2027, or Winter 2028.
- Be able to work in a remote or in-person hybrid setting requiring 3 days per week in the San Francisco, CA office and 2 days working remotely.
- Have a proven ability to develop production-level software.
- Be proficient in at least one of the following areas: Backend, Infrastructure, Full-stack, Frontend, or Mobile Infrastructure.
- Have experience with technologies such as Golang, Python, Node.js, Typescript, and React, or similar technologies.
- Possess a strong technical foundation in computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Be passionate about creating and taking ownership of projects, demonstrating a Builder Mindset.
- Be motivated by understanding customer needs and building solutions that make their lives easier, showing customer obsession.
- Have excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and with cross-functional teams.
