Job Description
The role involves developing and maintaining core organizational management features within Samsara's Connected Operations Cloud platform, working on both frontend and backend systems, leading technical initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, full-stack initiatives based on product requirements.
- Design and evolve core organization management experiences, including UI and backend services.
- Refactor existing code to improve performance, UX, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and review code to uphold high engineering standards and foster ownership.
- Collaborate with Product to prioritize work based on customer problems and business impact.
- Proactively identify risks, drive alignment, and unblock the team to ensure project progress.
- Leverage AI tools to automate tasks, accelerate development, and enhance productivity.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional industry experience building and operating production software systems.
- A track record of leading complex technical initiatives from inception to delivery in a collaborative team setting.
- Demonstrated ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver on project milestones.
- Experience with both front-end and back-end development, and willingness to work across the full technology stack.
- A growth mindset and excitement about learning new domains, frameworks, and tools; ability to operate as a quick learner with minimal supervision.
- A strong sense of ownership and agency, proactively identifying problems, driving decisions, and following through until resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design choices and trade-offs to engineers, product managers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- A desire to collaborate and openness to feedback; ability to defend ideas while being receptive to suggestions from others.
- Comfort using AI tools as part of the development workflow and demonstrated interest in experimenting with them to improve productivity.
- Experience scaling systems to serve 100,000 RPS (requests per second).
- Experience with DynamoDB database technology.
- Experience with the tech stack including Go, React, and GraphQL is a plus.
