Job Description
The role involves leading hardware engineering projects from concept to mass production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality products that support Samsara's connected operations platform, and ensuring timely delivery while driving innovation and cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including EE, PD, Firmware, Full Stack, QA, Product Management, and Operations to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce time to market, enhance product functionality, and lower costs.
- Plan and execute engineering xVT builds, coordinating with Supply Chain Management and New Product Introduction teams for production readiness.
- Manage internal and external communications related to product development and design processes, including design reviews and approvals.
- Work with global engineering teams to deliver projects that meet schedule, budget, and quality goals.
- Coordinate with JDM CM partners and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience shipping high-volume hardware programs at scale with ODM and JDM partners overseas.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, prioritization, and triage of complicated issues.
- Adaptive attitude to fast-evolving industry and rapid development cycles.
- Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and critical problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project and SmartSheets.
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for issue tracking and project summary.
- Familiarity with PLM systems for BOM and ECO management.
- Ability to travel internationally, depending on project needs.
- Bachelor of Science in a relevant technical field such as Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), or Computer Science (CS), or equivalent experience.
