Job Description
A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, assisting with system integrations, and helping customers understand IoT solutions to improve their operations across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and maintain an inbound question queue
- Support technical trials and proof of concepts through scripting and system integrations
- Create and manage digital content for product learning, installation, and configuration
- Update and maintain hardware and software lab infrastructure, including remote kits
- Coordinate and participate in new product testing activities
- Gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success in RFP responses, feature requests, and support triaging
Requirements
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Preferred 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
- Ability to create software scripting solutions and integrations to assist with technical proof of concepts
- Experience in monitoring and maintaining an inbound question queue to assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and tasks
- Experience in assisting with technical trials across Sales Engineering teams to convey the value of a Samsara solution within a prospect's operation
- Experience in producing and managing digital content to assist with product learning, product adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration
- Experience in updating and managing internal hardware and software lab infrastructure, both in office and remote kits
- Experience in coordinating and participating in new product testing activities
- Experience in gathering and highlighting industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions by working with technical sales teams
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses, Product Feature Request management, and Customer Support triaging
- Fluency in French
- Ability to work remotely within the US, excluding specific metro areas listed in the job posting
- Willingness to work in a role that involves assisting with technical inquiries, trials, content creation, and hardware/software management
