Job Description
A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise, demonstrating IoT solutions, assisting with product trials, and creating integrations to help customers improve their physical operations through connected technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and tasks, including monitoring inbound question queues.
- Support technical trials and proof of concepts through scripting solutions and system integrations.
- Provide internal technical assistance and QA support for customer-related inquiries.
- Create and manage digital content for product learning, installation, and configuration.
- Update and maintain hardware and software lab infrastructure, including remote kits.
- Participate in new product testing activities.
- Gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses and feature requests.
Requirements
- A candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A candidate must have at least 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
- A candidate must be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- A candidate must have a basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- A candidate must be well-versed in one of the following areas: cloud software, networking, automation, and control systems.
- A candidate must have experience tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles, which is considered a plus.
- A candidate must be fluent in French, as bilingualism in French is required.
- A candidate must be able to assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and tasks by monitoring and maintaining an inbound question queue.
- A candidate must be able to assist with technical trials across Samsara’s Sales Engineering team to convey the value of Samsara solutions within a prospect’s operation.
- A candidate must be capable of creating software scripting solutions and integrations to assist with technical proof of concepts.
- A candidate must be available for internal Q&A from Samsara account teams requesting technical assistance on behalf of their customers.
- A candidate must produce and manage digital content to assist with product learning, product adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration.
- A candidate must update and manage internal hardware and software lab infrastructure, both in office and remote kits.
- A candidate must coordinate and participate in new product testing activities.
- A candidate must gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions by working with technical sales teams.
- A candidate must coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses, Product Feature Request management, and Customer Support triaging.
