Job Description

A Sales Compensation Analyst responsible for administering and managing sales incentive programs, ensuring accurate commission payments, and supporting process improvements within a high-growth technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer sales variable payments such as commissions, draws, MBOs, and SPIFFs according to company policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely distribution of sales compensation plan documents to employees.
  • Address inquiries, adjustments, and corrections related to commissions promptly and professionally.
  • Validate accruals and payments, providing insights on fluctuations and variances.
  • Maintain and document processes for monthly and quarterly sales commission close, accounting, and audits.
  • Support setup and changes for sales plan participants, including new hires and terminations, ensuring SOX compliance.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing for sales compensation system updates and changes.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements to scale sales compensation operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sales Compensation role at a high-growth technology company or a company with 500 or more employees, with experience in a role that involves commission-based compensation.
  • Bachelor Degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Experience in automated sales commissions systems, including setup and operation, such as Xactly, SAP, Anaplan, Oracle EIM, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with proven attention to detail.
  • Good business acumen and awareness of business trends.
  • High degree of motivation, responsibility, and flexibility.
  • Ability to understand and apply commission plans consistently, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Ability to address commissions inquiries, adjustments, and corrections in a timely manner, providing a positive employee experience.
  • Experience in validating accrual and payment results for sales segments and providing insights on business drivers of commission result variances.
  • Ability to document and maintain business processes for monthly and quarterly close, commission accounting tasks, and audits.
  • Experience supporting commission plan participant setup, including new hires, terminations, and in-year or year-over-year changes, with relevant audit controls for SOX compliance.
  • Ability to perform User Acceptance Testing for new or modified configurations in sales incentive administration tools.
  • Experience identifying and contributing to process improvements to scale sales compensation operations with company growth.
