Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for developing innovative solutions, demonstrating the value of GIS technology, and advising customers on complex business challenges using Esri's ArcGIS platform. The role involves technical consulting, presentations, and supporting sales strategies across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate their value
- Build relationships and support sales strategies for Esri software and solutions
- Become a subject matter expert in industries and ArcGIS technology
- Present technical demonstrations and communicate solutions to customers
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions addressing customer challenges
- Define and deliver strategies to align Esri technology with customer business needs
Requirements
- Two years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- One year of experience in various industries
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
