Job Description
This role involves leading the development and strategy of Samsara's data reporting platform, enabling customers to create custom reports and dashboards, and driving scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications to improve physical operations across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term roadmap and strategy for telematics features.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to define technical strategy.
- Set quarterly goals and prioritize product engineering tasks.
- Plan and deliver features and infrastructure improvements to enhance customer experience.
- Ensure high reliability and quality of components.
- Lead and develop an inclusive, high-performing engineering team.
- Participate in customer interviews and collaborate with customer success and product teams to improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications
- Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large scale application services
- Strong interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love
- Proven record of attracting top-talent and coaching the team
- 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience
- 3 years of hands-on technical management experience
- The ability to speak English proficiently
- Experience building data pipelines and/or data analytics products
- Exposure to query engine optimizations
