Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Logistics Manager oversees the daily operations of the company's mailroom, manages shipping and receiving processes, maintains records and inventory, and leads a team to ensure efficient, cost-effective logistics while complying with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement shipping and receiving procedures and protocols.
- Manage daily operations of the headquarters mailroom, processing all incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and freight.
- Oversee corporate shipping accounts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and policy compliance.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
- Track shipments and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Manage and audit inventory, supplies, and equipment onsite.
- Resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor mailroom staff.
- Prepare reports on shipping and receiving activities.
- Track and allocate monthly shipping billings, providing cost breakdowns to accounting.
- Manage corporate shipping account users and profiles.
- Develop and launch global shipping programs and solutions.
- Create and implement SOPs for shipping, receiving, and storage services.
- Prepare shipments, print documents, and create shipping labels.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or related fields.
- Familiarity and training in the shipping of dangerous goods and hazardous materials (HAZMAT).
- Comprehensive knowledge of shipping and logistics processes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages and materials.
- Familiarity with shipping software such as UPS CampusShip, FedEx Ship Manager, envoy, financial tools, ERP systems, and SOX compliance.
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday in the San Francisco Office.
- Proven ability to manage and supervise a team effectively.
- Understanding of air parcel shipment networks.
- Thorough knowledge of correctly preparing commercial invoices across all major parcel systems.
- Experience designing and developing a shipping and receiving operations program from the ground up.
