Job Description
The Installation Specialist role involves managing the deployment of Samsara's hardware and technology solutions at customer sites, overseeing project execution, coordinating with vendors, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high-quality installations to drive customer success and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee customer installation projects and serve as the primary liaison between Samsara, customers, and installation partners
- Assist partners in building project-specific installation guides
- Track real-time installation progress and ensure adherence to project plans
- Coordinate with installation vendors to ensure timely, on-budget, and quality-compliant work
- Provide onsite oversight and project management for large or complex deployments
- Identify project risks, propose mitigation strategies, and keep projects on track
- Monitor customer satisfaction related to installation events and address root causes of dissatisfaction
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate issues, share feedback, and improve the installation process
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices during installations
- Guide installers through installation scenarios and help develop deployment plans
- Ensure Statement of Work (SOW) is understood, achievable, and in place
Requirements
- High school diploma required, advanced degree preferred.
- Must have valid driver s license and be insurable.
- At least 3 years of experience managing vehicle and/or hardware technology.
- Prior vehicle installation or up-fitter experience preferred, e.g., experience installing emergency lighting, two-way mobile radios, GPS equipment, antennas or other electrical equipment.
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including Controller Area Networks (CAN bus) and Power Take Off (PTO) applications.
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Experience in field operations coordination, implementation, and technical deployment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English verbal and written.
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-functional collaboration.
- Customer travel is expected up to 50-70%.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
