Job Description
An Electrical Engineer co-op role focused on designing, prototyping, testing, and validating hardware products related to IoT solutions, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop industry-leading connected operation devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to shipping successful product lines
- Conduct research on silicon possibilities and evaluate system features
- Design system schematics and layouts from concepts
- Create validation plans and characterize electrical systems
- Perform failure analysis to identify root causes and improve designs
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for product development and certification
Requirements
- Be currently attending a university that supports full-time work as part of a 6-month co-op or allows taking 2 quarters or one semester off to work a co-op, with a target graduation timeline of May-June 2026.
- Be a second or third-time co-op student or a Master level co-op student; first-time co-ops are not considered.
- Have prior intern or co-op experience working on high-volume hardware programs.
- Possess solid fundamentals in digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
- Have schematic and layout knowledge in Altium, Cadence, or CAD Allegro.
- Ability to navigate tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost.
- Hands-on experience with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of cameras, sensors, WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, antennas, and batteries.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive independent work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of full-time co-op employment.
- Must be able to work in the office at least Tuesdays to Thursdays, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
- Must be able to provide or obtain necessary legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location.
