The role involves leading Samsara's renewal sales team to drive customer retention, manage complex negotiations, and develop scalable processes to maximize long-term customer value in a SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own and execute the Core renewals strategy to meet or exceed retention and renewal targets
Lead, develop, and manage a team of Renewal Managers and RAEs to ensure high performance and accountability
Drive forecast accuracy and operational rigor to identify renewal risks and opportunities in advance
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and Legal teams on account strategies, pricing, and expansion opportunities
Engage in high-value negotiations to support deal strategy and maximize contract value while maintaining customer relationships
Monitor portfolio health metrics, identify systemic risks, and implement proactive mitigation strategies
Build scalable renewal processes and inspection routines to ensure consistency across the organization
Hire, coach, and develop talent within the renewals team to strengthen leadership capabilities
Requirements
8 years of experience in SaaS sales, renewals, or account management, with at least 3 to 5 years leading second-line or multi-layered sales teams
Demonstrated success leading managers and driving consistent quota attainment across large, complex portfolios
Experience owning retention and renewal metrics in a high-growth, recurring revenue environment
Executive-level negotiation experience with complex, multi-year, 1 million USD SaaS agreements
Proven ability to drive forecasting discipline and operational excellence across distributed teams
Strong cross-functional leadership experience with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Customer Success teams
Expertise in Salesforce and forecasting methodologies
Exceptional executive presence and communication skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic action
