Job Description
A hands-on Senior Automation Integration Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and managing AI-driven automation workflows and system integrations, primarily using Make and Workday, to enhance organizational efficiency and scalability through technical solutions and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable AI automation workflows using Make to connect core business systems, especially Workday.
- Manage data flows, transformations, and integrations between systems like Workday Finance and Workday HCM.
- Explore, evaluate, and deploy AI applications to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify automation opportunities and bridge business needs with technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation workflows and integrations, ensuring governance standards are met.
- Diagnose and resolve complex cross-system issues, identifying architectural gaps and proposing solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge to promote continuous learning.
Requirements
- Deep Automation Expertise with at least 4 years building production-grade automation workflows using Make preferred, n8n, Zapier, or Power Automate, including designing multi-step integrations with proper error handling, retries, and auditability, and writing scripts in Python and/or JavaScript when no-code solutions are insufficient.
- Solid hands-on experience across Workday Finance and/or HCM, including a real understanding of the underlying data models and how Finance and People Cloud teams rely on Workday as their system of record.
- Practical experience building or maintaining integrations using EIBs, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, PECI PICOF, or the Workday REST and SOAP APIs.
- Demonstrable experience designing and deploying AI-powered workflows, including LLM-based agents, to solve real business problems, with the ability to evaluate AI tools critically, build structured proofs of concept, and write clear assessment summaries.
- Proactive, self-motivated approach with a bias for action, thriving in fast-paced environments where requirements might change.
- Proven communication skills and confidence to engage with Finance and People Cloud stakeholders as well as technical teams, challenge assumptions, and communicate with radical candor.
- Eagerness to learn and quickly acquire new technical skills in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
