Job Description
The Strategic Account Manager at RES is responsible for developing and closing integrated natural capital projects with landowners and institutions across the US, building client relationships, structuring deals, and promoting ecosystem restoration and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Market and close integrated delivery projects with landowners and institutions across the US
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, agencies, and partners
- Develop and execute territory plans and manage sales pipeline
- Engage with high-net-worth individuals and institutions to originate opportunities
- Qualify and structure deals, including site assessment, regulatory pathways, and financial analysis
- Lead proposal development, negotiations, and contract finalization
- Coordinate with internal teams on project pursuit strategies and track permitting and funding timelines
- Forecast bookings and revenue accurately
- Represent RES at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings
- Maintain CRM records and report on pipeline activity and performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in sales or business development.
- Proven sales experience with High Net Worth (HNW) individuals and institutions.
- High velocity prospecting skills, including cold calling, and the ability to create a sales pipeline from scratch.
- Ability to evaluate deals by reading financial models, assessing team structure and governance, and pressure testing schedules and critical paths.
- Familiarity with contracts, including key provisions such as scope, schedule, payment, risk indemnities, and termination clauses.
- Legal awareness in deal structuring and term sheets.
- Executive-level communication skills, capable of presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated resilience, ability to handle setbacks, learn quickly, and iterate strategies without losing momentum.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly regionally by car and air, including occasional evenings and weekends for industry events.
- Must meet company driving standards and maintain a safe driving record.
